ICE Foundation Turkey Drive Goes State To State
The Innovative Community Engagement Foundation, affectionately known as the ICE Foundation, is an organization that was started by young professionals who want to make a difference in their community. The ICE Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that, during the holiday season, collects donations of turkeys, hams, and gift cards from various sources—including individuals, businesses, law firms, and organizations—to feed people living in low-resource neighborhoods during Thanksgiving.
[...] though there are so many organizations providing food during the holidays, there is still a present need for those in low-resource neighborhoods. President & CEO, G.C. Murray II
Since its inception in 2014, the ICE Foundation has grown from its humble beginnings as a small community project to its current state as a nationwide organization. The foundation has been operating in multiple states across the country and has fed more than 5000 people living in low-resource neighborhoods, including over 600 this year. This past Thanksgiving week, volunteers from all over Florida, Washington D.C., and Virginia came together to complete this meaningful mission.
The turkey drive was a community event held in multiple locations throughout the country. It was a success, with many large and small events being organized by various groups such as parks, schools, and community centers. CyTech Services, LLC and Elite Movers provided in-kind help, volunteers, and sponsorship dollars to make this year's Thanksgiving Turkey Drive a success.
The ICE Foundation's mission is to stimulate different segments of society through mentorship, service and professional development. The organization has successfully completed many events, including backpack bashes, career days, and even mock trials for high school students. G.C. Murray II, Esq., DPL, President and CEO of the ICE Foundation, stated, "though there are so many organizations providing food during the holidays, there is still a present need for those in low-resource neighborhoods. During the season of giving, we are grateful to be able to meaningfully contribute to helping those in need."
